The patient's progress and response to the treatment will be monitored. If indicated, the treatment plan will be altered and a new prognosis will be established. If the patient's improvement is not as indicated, they may be referred to another specialist for evaluation.
The purpose of this management is to provide the patient with any corrective care necessary to restore normal spinal and or bodily function, in as short a period of time as possible.
This is accomplished with conservative spinal and/or joint manipulations to restore normal function. Physiotherapy procedures are also utilized to facilitate healing of traumatized soft tissue. Following corrective care, an active rehabilitative exercise program will be initiated, which will maintain stabilization of spinal and/or joint function while the remaining healing takes place. When the patient’s condition returns to normal, or maximum medical improvement is reached, the patient is released from further treatment.
